ExRotaprint is the former site of the Rotaprint printing press manufacturing plant in Berlin’s Wedding district. ExRotaprint is a tennant owned and self-organised organisation with a focus not on marketing or financial profit, but on the users and the work they create.
Community Backstage takes place in the Glaskiste or “Glass Box”, Designed by architect Klaus Kirsten in 1956, the Rotaprint’s former Technical Office features generous, north- and south-facing windows under an elevated mono-pitch roof.
ExRotaprint is located in the district of Wedding (pronounced Vedding), one of Berlin's cultural centres home to a vibrant artists' community. Wedding was recently named "Berlin's coolest neighbourhood" by Time Out Magazine but it is still said to be the place to find the Schnauze mit Herz (big mouth and big heart) of Berlin.
